What we look for on an SSD.
What to photograph on an SSD
Enterprise SSDs print everything we need on the top label: manufacturer, model number, capacity, interface and the firmware family. On a Samsung drive the model starts with MZ (MZ7LH is the PM883 SATA line, MZQL2 the PM9A3 NVMe line); Intel and Solidigm drives read SSDSC2 for SATA or SSDPE2 for NVMe; Micron labels carry the series (5300, 7300, 7450) and capacity outright. One straight photo of that label prices the drive.
If the drive came out of a Dell, HPE or Lenovo caddy it may still carry the OEM sticker on top of the manufacturer label — photograph both. The OEM code tells us the firmware branch, which matters for some buyers; the manufacturer model sets the base price.
What drives the price of used SSDs
Capacity and interface set the range. NVMe and U.2 drives at 3.84TB and above are the most sought after; 960GB and 1.92TB SATA drives are the volume workhorses and hold steady value; anything under 480GB sells but for little, so bundle them. SAS SSDs price between SATA and NVMe depending on the generation (12G SAS drives with 3 DWPD endurance do well).
Endurance class matters too: a mixed-use drive (1–3 drive-writes-per-day) prices higher than a read-intensive one of the same capacity, and remaining life as reported by SMART shifts the number within the range. Matched sets of the same model pulled from one array earn a small premium because a buyer can rebuild the array without mixing firmware.

Data destruction and packing
You do not need to wipe drives before sending them. Every SSD is sanitised to NIST 800-88 on intake — a firmware secure-erase where the drive supports it, otherwise a full overwrite or shredding — and we can email a certificate of destruction for your lot on request. Pack drives in anti-static bags or the original caddies with bubble wrap between them; a USPS Priority flat-rate box holds about a dozen 2.5" drives.

Frequently asked
Do you buy consumer SSDs and M.2 drives?
Yes, though enterprise drives (Samsung PM/SM series, Intel D3/D7, Micron 5xxx/7xxx, Kioxia) price much higher than consumer models. Consumer 2.5" SATA and M.2 NVMe drives are welcome in lots of five or more.
What about drives with a lot of writes or a failed SMART status?
Tell us in the notes. Drives with high wear or SMART warnings are priced as such, not rejected outright; a drive that fails our intake test is either priced separately or returned at our cost. You'll see the reason line by line before anything is paid.
How do you price my parts?
Off the part number and quantity against what the same part is selling for this week. You get a line-item offer by email, valid 10 business days. No obligation.
Do I pay for shipping?
Yes — you ship it to us. A USPS Priority flat-rate box fits ~40 DIMMs or a dozen SSDs. Anti-static bags help; bubble wrap is fine.
When do I get paid?
PayPal, the same business day your box arrives and we confirm the count. Most sellers see the money within 3–5 days of accepting the offer.
What if something doesn't match the offer?
We tell you exactly what differs (wrong capacity, dead stick) and send a revised line before paying. You can decline and we ship it back at our cost.
Does the data on my SSDs get wiped?
Every drive is NIST 800-88 wiped or shredded on intake. We can email a certificate of destruction for your lot on request.
